In the combined photo above, downtown Zihua is at the right, next to the Madera beach at the bottom right. The photo at right is from Madera Beach, with a scenic waterfront path leading to Zihua.
This area features superb winter weather, calm warm water, and some inexpensive places to stay. But the activities and restaurants at more northerly Puerto Vallarta offer more options.
La Ropa beach, one of the best in Mexico, is at the left both here and in the top photo. Between it and Madera beach is a steep hill, where moving escalators would surely be nice!
